Living without Drama

Man I don’t know if it’s a good thing or not but I can say that the last couple of weeks have been kind of boring. It’s good because for now there is no drama and no one wants to have drama in their lives. But I did happen to have something kind of funny happen to me this week. When I was growing up it could be said that I had a lot of friends. Now what I mean is I had a lot of people that I use to hang out with. But I only had a couple of really good friends. Now one of my really good friends was “spanky”. Now I call her Spanky just because that will be her name. LOL Well I was in target shopping for you know the crap that people need to live. Well I am picking up some deodorant so that I don’t smell like the local bum. When I see this little girl knocking stuff off the rack. LOL you know just trying to show off in front of her mother not being bad really but still. So I made the “joke” oh you are just making a mess aren’t you? Then the mother looks at me and says what’s your name? So I told her my first name and then she told me my last name. OH my god it was Spanky. I have not talked or seen Spanky for over 15 years. Oh my god I couldn’t believe this. Now California is a huge state and Los Angeles is a bigger city then most people will ever been in. Once you lose touch with someone it’s really hard to even hope to meet up with them again. It’s even harder if you don’t have any of the same people in common. Now I have moved about no less than 5 times since last I talked with spanky. So this is one of the last people I expected to run into. We traded numbers and plan on really catching up. But from the few little moments that we had to talk I found out that she has 3 kids. I knew about one so that is how I knew just how long it’s been since I had seen her. She has been married and now she isn’t and the youngest kid has a different father than the rest. I so have to get the rest of this story because I am sure I am going to be laughing about how this all happened.
The other major thing to happen to me this week was a date. I kind of like this girl. We have never been out together so this will be fun. I go to her bar sometimes and we laugh and have fun together. Now this was going to be a Block party over by my best friends place. This is going to be a lot of drinking and me being picked on because that is what my best friend’s family loves to do. They pick on me mostly because of the fact that I can’t find a steady female to settle down with. This young lady is very nice but I have to say a little out of control when she gets to drinking. Which for the most part I wouldn’t have any problem with. But this time I think that it kind of bit me on the ass this time. Oh it’s bad when you go somewhere where everyone there is drinkers. It’s one of the great things that I love about my buddy’s family. They party and party hard. Well it would seem that when I wasn’t looking. Mostly during the pay per view fight that was on. The ladies of the family started taking shots with their friends Jose, Johnny and JD. Oh wow it was fun to watch and I know if the booze wasn’t flowing it might have been a different end to the night. LOL oh well we are making plans to go somewhere else and have a real date. LOL we will see how that goes.

What did you say?

Ok after the last ultra serious post I had to come back with something just a little bit more lighthearted. I have a good friend that works at a hospital in the urgent care. Now she is the person that checks people in and fills out the paperwork. She tells me of an incident that happen a couple of weeks ago. It would seem that this woman comes in that very high maintenance. She has fake everything, nails, hair, boobs and anything else that you can buy and put on a female. So my friend has to get all her info so that she can be treated. So my friend asks “So what are you here for today?” She says she has a urinary tract infection. Well ok lots of women get this and it’s nothing out of the ordinary. So since this is this woman’s first time here she has to fill out the info forms. As this is happening the two nurses in the room start to ask questions. “So why do you think you have a UTI?” and with a straight face this woman says “oh it’s an occupational hazard.” LOL my friend lets this slide since this It’s been a long day and plus she also thinks that she heard her right. And would you want to ask that follow up question? Now my friend just goes about her day and she has to input all this info of the day into the computer. When she comes upon the information form of the fake woman she reads it over to make sure everything is correct on it. As she is reading it she stops and has to read it a few times over. Because this woman has put under occupation “Hooker”. Not self-employed, not actress nothing to clean it up even a little bit just hooker. Wow I can only guess that she is really really proud of what she does and doesn’t mind who knows about it.

On a serious note

This has been an interesting week. I have been trying all week to put into words about my weekend. On one hand I had a very good weekend and it could have been fun. Had a few funny things happen to me so this post would have been funny. Then again I also had a few other things go not so well. So this post will be about that instead. I need to get this off my chest. I went to visit my parents this weekend. Now I love my parents with all my heart but it’s getting harder and harder when I visit them. My Mother has MS, Multiple Sclerosis. She has had it for about 20 years at this point. It’s very very hard to watch my mother who at one point was a very active woman degenerate into a bedridden woman. It’s too the point where my Mother is maybe 90 pounds if a pound. She has no control over her body. It’s a chore for her to talk and My Father has to feed her for the most part. I remember the fun we use to have going camping, to the park or even just going out for a drive. I sat down and had Dinner with them and my Father noticed that I got kind of upset watching my mother eat. It really did upset me to sit back and watch this and not say something. Mostly because at this point she only has about 10% of control over her left hand. If she was left handed this wouldn’t be all that big of a deal but since she is right handed it’s all but useless. She can’t grab a fork or bring the food up to her mouth even though she tries. It’s really hard to watch her and even see that this is the same woman that I grew up with. It just makes me wish I could be a better person and not let it effect me as much as it does. I do cherish the time that I have my parents and just having them here. It just makes it sad sometimes never knowing when and if that call will come in saying that she is no longer with us. To be the eldest son is hard sometimes that is for damn sure.
